Our Story

We are proud to carry on a family tradition of quilting, creating beautiful quilts that bring joy and memories. With each new generation, we feel inspired to keep this craft alive. Now, we are excited to take our passion for quilting to the next level with long-arm quilting services.

Happy Bee Quilts is named after our beloved mom, grandma, and great-grandma, who was affectionately known as Happy B. She instilled in us the joy of quilting and shared her love through her creations. Many people treasure quilts made by her hands. We honor her legacy with our family-run quilting service that focuses on craftsmanship, connection, and love for the art of quilting.

We have turned Happy’s house, our family home, into a space for stitching, preserving traditions, and creating beautiful quilts together. We plan to host workshops and quilting bees in this space. This service allows us to keep her memory alive while making meaningful connections across generations.

Whether you need help finishing a quilt, want to bring a project to life, or simply seek a special handmade item, we are here to help. We offer machine quilting services, both all-over and customized, along with lovingly crafted items like tallow balm for your hands and small quilts for your wall. Our products will change with our creativity!

Thank you for joining us on this journey. We appreciate the opportunity to work together as a family.

Sarah Sisson, co-founder of Happy Bee Quilts, is relatively new to the quilting community. Since the start of this venture in September of 2024, she has applied her background of architecture, graphic design, and arts & crafts to what she feels is the perfect summation of her skills and hobbies. Being mentored by family and close friends, she has gone full-blown sewist, loving this new outlet for her passions and the opportunity to partner with other creatives in the valley. In addition to working with textiles, she has also found a niche to apply her knack for precise measurements and graphic formatting to helping quilt designers format their patterns for their own businesses. She hopes to build a library of patterns to use with computerized long arms as well. The most exciting part of the journey by far is the chance to build a business that she can do alongside her family.
